Our parent night will be held on Wednesday, March 29th from 5:00 - 6:00 pm in our classroom! We hope to see you all here to share our hard work and interesting facts we have learned!
Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Our classroom will be having a small celebration to celebrate our wonderful classmates and our friendships that we work so hard at! If you would like to bring in a snack to share with our class please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at (802) 426-3213 ext 277. I would love to see a variety of snacks from fruits, veggies, goodies, juice, or a donation of paper goods! Please let me know if you are able or would like to donate anything. If you are planning on making valentines for students in our class please make one for every student. We have 18 students students.

Reading Logs due Friday
NAEP Testing- 4th graders are going to be involved in testing on Thursday afternoon. NAEP is the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). Please get lots of sleep, fluids, and eat healthy!
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 3rd WE HAVE ECO! - Please come prepared for the weather with lots of layers including socks, gloves, hats, sweatshirts, coats, snow pants, and additional layers!
In reading we have been plugging away during our literacy time. We have been practicing many different skills in reading with nonfiction books and texts. We have learned about and practiced summarizing nonfiction text using the main idea and identified how nonfiction texts are structured. We have learned about cause and effect, problem and solutions, compare and contrast, sequential, and description.
In writing we have been taking our time at taking notes on our countries. We are researching where our country is in the world, the land and climate, and interesting facts that we are learn about our country. We will be starting to write rough drafts about our countries next week.
In theme we have started learning about different types of maps. We have learned about physical, political, road, and historic maps. We have also learned that the key features of maps are borders, titles, key, scale, and compass. We are currently practicing using maps to locate, find places, and practice using directions.
